Postcards from Pompey – A City Seen Through Young People’s Eyes

What would Portsmouth look like if we won UK City of Culture 2029?

We asked young people to imagine exactly that and share their vision on a postcard.

On the front, they illustrated their ideas, from bold ambitions to imaginative possibilities. On the back, they shared their thoughts about what they would like Portsmouth to look, feel and sound like in 2029.

The results were creative, colourful and full of imagination!

From eye-catching public art and greener neighbourhoods to skate parks, splash parks, music events and more spaces to spend time with friends and family, the postcards reveal what matters most to Portsmouth’s younger generation.

Each one offers a unique glimpse into the future they want to help create.

Browse the gallery and see where their imaginations took them, and can take us in 2029!
